Champagne in Economy, proper bread, French wine lists in every cabin — Air France treats the flight as part of the trip. Here is how to book it from the U.S. without overpaying.
Air France leans on what France does best. Menus are designed with well-known French chefs, the wine list is chosen by a sommelier, and even Economy passengers are offered a glass of champagne on long-haul flights.
Offered free in all long-haul cabins, Economy included.
Business and La Première dishes created with Michelin-starred chefs.
One of the most exclusive first-class cabins flying — just a handful of suites per aircraft.
Book any combination across the Atlantic on a single ticket.
Air France has been refitting its long-haul fleet, so newer aircraft have business suites with doors. La Première is on a small number of Boeing 777s and selected routes only.
Almost all Air France flights now run from Charles de Gaulle. U.S. flights use Terminal 2E, and Schengen connections leave from 2F next door.
Connecting from the U.S. to another European city means passport control and a security check, so allow at least 90 minutes.
Fares are indicative one-way economy prices and change with dates and availability. Click a route for live prices.
Air France weighs cabin baggage as a combined total, which catches many U.S. travellers out. Economy Light fares have no checked bag.
Flying Blue is the joint programme of Air France and KLM. Miles are easy to collect because most major U.S. bank points transfer in, and monthly Promo Rewards discount award flights on selected routes.
Status requirements are set by Flying Blue and can change.
Light has no checked bag. With luggage, Standard is nearly always the cheaper total.
The same route is often sold by Delta, Air France and KLM at three different prices.
Flying out via Paris and back via Amsterdam on KLM can open up cheaper combinations.
Land in Paris and fly home from Nice, Rome or Barcelona to save a backtrack.
April, May, September and October offer the best mix of fares and weather.
