Singapore Airlines is the airline other airlines study. It flies the world's longest nonstop routes from the U.S. and connects through Changi, the airport people actually enjoy.
Each Singapore Airlines cabin is among the best in its class. The aircraft on the very longest U.S. nonstops have no Economy cabin at all — only Premium Economy and Business.
Singapore Changi is repeatedly ranked the world's best airport. Butterfly gardens, a rooftop pool, free cinemas and the Jewel waterfall make a long layover easy.

Singapore Airlines flies nonstop between Singapore and both New York airports — around 18 and a half hours in the air, the longest scheduled passenger flights anywhere. The aircraft are specially built A350s with extra fuel and a premium-heavy layout.

KrisFlyer is easy to top up because most major U.S. bank points transfer into it. Miles do expire after three years, so use them. Above the Elite tiers sits the invitation-style PPS Club for frequent premium-cabin flyers.
Tier requirements are set by Singapore Airlines and can change.

Flights to and from the U.S. use a piece system; other routes use total weight that rises with fare type — Lite, Value, then Flexi.
The nonstop from New York is premium-priced. Routing via Frankfurt or the West Coast can cost far less.
For 16 hours or more, the step up from Economy is often one of the better-value upgrades in the sky.
Lite is cheapest but earns fewer miles and charges more for changes and seats.
A couple of nights in Singapore usually adds little to the fare and breaks up the journey.
